Student Outcomes (SOs)

Immediately after graduation, our students have abilities:

SO1: An ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline;

  1. PI1.1: Ability to apply differential and integral calculus to characterize the performance of control systems;
    PI1.2: Ability to proficiently utilize an associated software to simulate and design an electrical circuit;
    PI1.3: Ability to apply the specialized knowledge to build an electrical & electronic system (such as electrical power transmission and distribution, control system); and
    PI1.4: Ability to apply specialized knowledge to operate and maintain the electrical systems.

SO2: An ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline;

  1. PI2.1: Ability to design the electronic circuits of the components in the control systems;
    PI2.2: Ability to design the electrical systems;
    PI2.3: Ability to design a process for controlling the EE system or electrical devices by programming PLCs; and
    PI2.4: Ability to design a process for controlling the EE system or electrical devices by programming microcontrollers.

SO3: An ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature;

  1. PI3.1: An ability to apply written communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments;
    PI3.2: An ability to apply oral communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments;
    PI3.3: Ability to apply the graphic communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and
    PI3.4: An ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.

SO4: An ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments and to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes; and

  1. PI4.1: Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data that leads to meaningful conclusions;
    PI4.2: Ability to set up an experiment using realistic and readily available components, tools, and test equipment; and
    PI4.3: Ability to find and correct errors in experiment setups and in experimental data.

SO5: An ability to function effectively as a member as well as a leader on technical teams.

  1. PI5.1: Without faculty intervention, students form teams and assign roles to members, including leadership;
    PI5.2: Ability to schedule, divide work and promote the members to well complete the works on time;
    PI5.3: Ability to perform individual tasks in a timely manner with respect to the team-developed timelines; and
    PI5.4: Ability to manage electrical and electronic project
