LHU joined Dong Nai provincial delegation to visit and work with ESC, SunEdu Company

On January 12, 2024, LHU's representatives including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector; MSc. Nguyen Hoang Anh - Vice Dean of Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics; MSc. Nguyen Minh Son -  Vice Dean of Faculty of Information Technology and some lecturers joined the delegation of Dong Nai province to visit and work with the Electronics and Semiconductor Center (ESC), SunEdu Company.

The delegation was led by Mr. Ta Quang Truong - Director of the Provincial Department of Information and Communications and attended by representatives of Offices of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Youth Union; Department of Information and Communications; Department of Science and Technology; Department of Industry and Trade; Department of Education and Training; Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Department of Planning and Investment; Offices of the Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations; Leaders of Dong Nai University, LHU, Dong Nai Technology University, Dong Nai Technical College, Dong Nai College of High Technology.

The purpose of the delegation's visit is to prepare human resources for the digital transformation process in Dong Nai province in the coming time and for AI, electronics and semiconductor circuit development.

During the event, the delegation visited the ESC in Saigon Hi-tech Park, Ho Chi Minh City, at the same time discussed contents including:

- Development trends of the electronics and semiconductor circuit industries; opportunities and challenges for Vietnam and the Southern IT industrial driving force region.

- Development models of electronics and semiconductor human resources and the establishment process of semiconductor circuit Centers; training models, training programs, training cooperation at SunEdu. 

- Discussions and prosopals of cooperation models to develop IT human resources Dong Nai province, especially collaborative training with the province's training facilities such as Dong Nai University, LHU, Dong Nai College of High Technology.

- Specific directions to help young intellectuals promote creative research to serve the implementation of regional planning and semiconductor and microchip technology planning; skill requirements for Dong Nai students, pupils and young intellectuals to participate in the process of digital transformation and semiconductor circuit and IT development.

- The demands of high-tech enterprises for human resources with digital competencies; human resource orientation in the electronics and microchip industries; information about internship and scholarship opportunities for students.

- The high demand for tech workers (job needs, regimes for employees) and recruitment criteria of businesses for schools to use as a basis to build outcome standards to meet their needs.

According to the Director of the Department of Information and Communications Ta Quang Truong, this activity helps representatives of departments, agencies, universities and colleges in the province learn about the development trends of the electronics and semiconductor circuit industries, especially its development opportunities and potential in the Southern IT industrial driving force region.

After the working session, LHU and ESC discussed signing a cooperation agreement on training for lecturers in the fields of semiconductors and chip design, training and certification for engineering students in basic to advanced chip design modules.

The development and investment from all parties promise that the training of electronics and semiconductor circuit human resources will be a key direction of LHU in the future.
