Deploying the construction of Semiconductor IC Center at LHU

A meeting between LHU and SUN EDU International Education Joint Stock Company took place on February 22, 2024 to deploy the construction of semiconductor IC Center as well as IC human resources training at LHU.

On LHU's side, there were Dr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector; Leaders of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics and the Faculty of Information Technology; Heads of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology and the Department of Automation and Control Engineering Technology. The SUN EDU's side was represented by Mr. Luu Hue Tien - General Director and Mr. Nguyen Pham Le Kha - Office Chief.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed and agreed on many important contents in the construction plan and training related to the IC Design in order to build a solid IC Center at LHU under the MoU signed on January 22, 2024 which includes the following contents:

- Building an IC Design Engineering Technology training program with the consulting support from the University of Arizona. This cooperation ensures the training of high-quality human resources to meet the needs of today's society.
- Building a team of high-quality lecturers through the TOT (Training of Trainer) course including 2 in-depth contents: Physical Design (PD), Design Verification (DV). The course will take place within 4 months with the guidance from SUN EDU experts. These two parts require the most human resources (about 40%) in the IC design process. The goal is to train excellent lecturers to meet the needs of learners majoring in IC Design Engineering Technology at LHU and schools in Dong Nai province. The course is expected to be opened at the end of March 2024 at LHU. Candidates are lecturers of LHU, universities and colleges in Dong Nai. LHU will coordinate with the Dong Nai Department of Information and Communications to send more information about the course to participating units in the near future. 
- Building a plan to open a short-term training course on operating an SMT assembly line. Students will learn theory at practice rooms of the LHU's Center of Scientific Research and Applications, then practice assembly at enterprises with the instruction from experts.
