On November 29, 2025, two outstanding representatives of the Department of Japanese Studies, LHU - students Phan Thi Ngoc Anh and Tran Quynh Trang surpassed many strong competitors to win the Championship in the Japanese Plus category at the Asia J-Connect Fiesta 2025, a Japanese speech contest for Southeast Asian university students, held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. This academic and cultural event brought together 16 prestigious universities from across Southeast Asia, creating a vibrant and challenging platform for exchange.

Asia J-Connect Fiesta 2025 featured a series of engaging activities, including:
- J-Genki: A series of physical challenges and teamwork activities promoting a Healthy – Active – Connected lifestyle, conducted in Japanese.
- Nihongo Talk: A stage for contestants to demonstrate sharp thinking and Japanese language proficiency.
- Japanese Plus: A creative arena where participants used Japanese to showcase new knowledge across various specialized fields.

This remarkable achievement not only affirms LHU's academic quality but also highlights the talent, creativity, and passionate dedication to Japanese language and culture among Vietnam’s young generation.
