Lac Hong Robocon connects educational values with global technology

Participating in ABU Robocon 2026 in Hong Kong, LHU once again made its mark as Vietnam’s representative at the Asia-Pacific robotics competition. More than a competition, the event was also an opportunity for LHU students to put the capacities gained through learning, research, and hands-on practice to the test in an international technology environment.

ABU Robocon 2026 brought together 16 teams from 15 countries and territories, including universities and technical training institutions from Japan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and other countries

Taking part in the competition, LHU students experienced a real competitive environment where technical knowledge had to be turned into actual products, strategies, and the ability to deal with specific situations on the competition field. Every design, robot operation, and adjustment became an opportunity for students to test what they had learned, strengthen their technical thinking, and improve their problem-solving skills under real pressure.

Besides the competition, technical exchanges with international teams helped students see different approaches to the same technical challenges. Through these exchanges, they could look back at their own products, identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and broaden their thinking about design and technology.

Truong Duy Thanh Nhan, Leader of the LH-FOF team, shared “For us, Lac Hong Robocon is not only a technology competition, but also an environment where we can work on real projects, test ourselves, and learn from the problems that arise during the process of building and operating robots. At ABU Robocon, we also had the opportunity to interact with international teams, broaden our perspectives, and better understand what we are pursuing in technology”.

As part of the program, the Lac Hong Robocon delegation also visited Hong Kong Science & Technology Park, interacted with businesses, and learned how technology ideas are researched, developed, and applied in practice. The visit helped students better understand the connection between their professional knowledge, research, businesses, and the real needs of society.

From the Robocon arena to technical exchanges and technology networking activities, LHU students had opportunities to demonstrate their abilities while learning from international standards and practices. This is also one way LHU brings the value of its education beyond the university through students’ actual products, professional skills, adaptability, and willingness to learn.

For LHU, the value of Robocon is therefore not only about achievements or trophies. More importantly, it provides students with an environment to work on real projects, face real challenges, broaden their understanding of technology, and gradually gain a clearer understanding of the career path they are pursuing.
