Expanding learning to promote advanced economic and industrial development in Dong Nai

Dong Nai aims to improve its management efficiency, increase investment attraction, and promote technology transfer, contributing to the sustainable and modern local economy, especially in the strongly rising digital era. Besides focusing on modern industrial parks, provincial leaders strengthen guidance on expanding learning of high-tech agricultural models, smart urban management and sustainable development.

On June 5, 2024, a delegation led by Mr. Ta Quang Truong - Director of Dong Nai Department of Information and Communications, along with Mr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector and lecturers from the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics of LHU visited and worked with IUH's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City).

This trip aims to visit the Smart Factory Laboratory 4.0 sponsored by Siemens Corporation, thereby learning experience to deploy Dong Nai's first Digital Laboratory project located at LHU.

Receiving the delegation were Mr. Huynh Trung Hieu - Vice Chairman of the IUH Council, Vice Rector (member of the Digital Transformation Advisory Council of Dong Nai province) and leaders of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The Smart Factory Laboratory 4.0 was conducted as a collaboration between IUH and Siemens Group (Germany) to provide equipment and software, and organize training workshops for lecturers.

A project with numerous values

The project's total investment capital is more than 4.6 million USD. Siemens will sponsor over 3.9 million USD including equipment and technology, training curriculum, 300 Solid Edge, 3D CAD software copies. The rest is matched from the University's budget.

The project's training program will provide faculty and students with general knowledge about industry 4.0 in response to the urgent needs of society. It also enables students to analyze, design, simulate, apply 4.0 technology in automated production; analyze and design 4.0 industrial monitoring and control systems integrating IoT. In addition, lecturers and students will be equipped with skills in business administration including production, supply, sales, and service chains through applications of cloud computing to meet the requirements of today's market economy. The project also builds the technical staff's capacity for domestic manufacturing and automation enterprises to access the 4.0 industry.

Will there be a Digital Laboratory in Dong Nai?

Previously, on May 22, 2024, Mr. Vo Hoang Khai - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Information and Communications and Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai - Chairwoman of the LHU Council met and worked with Mr. Vo Hong Ky - Leader of Siemens Vietnam to discuss cooperation strategies between the two sides. Ms. Lan Dai also expressed her wish to see the project implemented soon at LHU in the time ahead. LHU will prepare a space with a minimum area of ​​500m2 to receive the project.

The Southern key economic region including provinces: Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau... plays a pivotal role in Vietnam's economic growth. Among them, Dong Nai is one of the key localities with huge potential. Dong Nai's development planning focuses on improving transportation infrastructure like completing Long Thanh international airport, expanding road and seaport systems to facilitate goods circulation and regional connectivity.

Dong Nai also pays due heed to sustainable industrial development with modern industrial parks, attracting domestic and foreign investment, concurrently applying green and environmentally friendly technologies. Additionally, it promotes urban development, improve people's life through projects of new urban areas, modern educational and medical facilities.

Parallelly, Dong Nai concentrates on preserving and developing agricultural and ecotourism areas, contributing to environmental protection and creating additional sources of income for local people. Through these strategies and planning, Dong Nai has ambitions to become an important economic driving force, promoting the comprehensive development of the southern key economic region. Dong Nai's leaders have proactively organized study tours in localities and countries with advanced economic and industrial development models. The tours' purposes are to study, research and apply experience and modern technologies to local development practices.
