Lac Hong University's Trade Union organizes a commemorative gathering for the 115th International Women's Day

CELEBRATING WOMEN'S ROLES, AFFIRMING COMMITMENT TO

GENDER EQUALITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

BIEN HOA, VIETNAM – In the vibrant atmosphere celebrating the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 – March 8, 2025), on the morning of March 6, 2025, the Trade Union of Lac Hong University (LHU) solemnly organized a celebratory gathering filled with dynamic activities for its Female Faculty members and Staff (F&S) at Auditorium A301. This event was not merely an occasion for tribute but also a strong affirmation of LHU's dedication to fostering an equitable working and learning environment that cherishes women.

The program drew enthusiastic participation from a large number of Female F&S, alongside the esteemed presence of the University's Board of Directors and the Trade Union, including Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai – Chairwoman of the University Council; Dr. Lam Thanh Hien – Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh – Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan – Vice Rector, along with honored guests and representatives from various university units. A joyous, lively, and warm atmosphere permeated through cultural performances, thematic discussions, the LHU Ao Dai Charming Contest 2025 awards ceremony, the Tan Ty Tet 2025 Miniature Landscape Decoration awards, appreciation gifts, and a lucky draw, all of which created memorable moments and demonstrated profound care and respect for the esteemed women across the university.

Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of LHU, extended his best wishes to the Female F&S, expressing profound gratitude for their dedication, enthusiasm, and invaluable contributions. His wishes for good health, happiness, and continued brilliance in their careers and lives served as immense encouragement, affirming that Lac Hong University always stands alongside women in their journey of value creation and sustainable development.

Sustainable Vision and Educational Impact:

The International Women's Day celebration at LHU is more than just an annual event; it is a clear testament to the University's vision and mission in advancing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, this program directly contributes to SDG 5: Gender Equality, by honoring the roles, values, and contributions of women in all spheres of university life. Furthermore, creating a working and learning environment where women are empowered and can develop comprehensively also contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education, as female educators are encouraged, motivated, and provided with conditions to dedicate themselves fully to the cause of education. This activity also reflects LHU's commitment to the Stewardship and Outreach aspects within the THE Impact Rankings criteria, by demonstrating a humane management of human resources and disseminating progressive values to society.
