LHU welcomes GEN Singapore Delegation: Catalyst for innovation ecosystem

On June 11, 2026, Lac Hong University (LHU) hosted a formal meeting with Mr. Jayren Teo, Managing Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Network Singapore (GEN Singapore). This visit marked a strategic step forward, operationalizing commitments made after LHU and GEN Singapore officially exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Vietnam - Singapore Technology Connection Forum.

A highlight of the visit was a startup project presentation session, where LHU Pharmacy students showcased scientific solutions directly to Mr. Jayren Teo and representatives from the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology. Demonstrating keen research insight and deep professional expertise, the Pharmacy student team confidently defended the feasibility of their medical and pharmaceutical projects, most notably, a solution involving the development of smart herbal-based biomembranes for treating and healing injuries. This direct engagement, with students presenting their projects to both an international startup network executive and state regulatory officials, not only demonstrated their practical research capabilities but also affirmed the strong commercialization potential of healthcare products rooted in academic expertise.

This event served as a connecting point as LHU implemented a collaborative strategy involving GEN Singapore and the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology. The parties discussed ways to shape effective cooperation for the future. By leveraging the GEN network, the world's largest startup organization, with a presence in over 180 countries, LHU students and faculty in the health sciences fields will gain direct access to high-quality incubation programs, networks of expert mentors and international investment funds.
